NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush

NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush
NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush BRUSH

The NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush is a fairly thick, velvety cream blush that feels luxurious to the touch. However, I don’t find myself reaching for it often because it’s a bit too thick to blend out easily, requiring extra effort to achieve a seamless, natural finish. It’s quite difficult to fade due to the high pigment concentration, so precision is key during application to avoid overdoing it.

The color dries down to a matte finish, which is ideal for those who prefer a subtle, shine-free look. While this can be great for long-lasting wear without any shine, it may not appeal to fans of dewy or glowy finishes. Furthermore, it’s not a particularly versatile product—you can’t use it on your lips or as a multi-purpose item, which might be a drawback for those looking to simplify their makeup routine.

I do have to say that I absolutely love the color. It’s a beautiful deep red shade, and it’s not always easy to find such a rich, dark red blush. It’s the perfect hue for adding a bold pop of color, but the thicker formula and lack of blendability make it harder to work with.

The packaging, while compact, doesn’t offer anything extra to make it stand out, and given its thicker formula, it might not be the most beginner-friendly option. Overall, while it’s a decent product with strong pigmentation and staying power, its lack of blendability and versatility make it less practical for everyday use, at least in my experience.

This Sephora Colorful® Eyeshadows Review dives into the beauty and versatility of the Colorful Eyeshadow by Sephora collection.

I’ll admit, I don’t use eyeshadow very often, which is why my collection is pretty sparse. While I find it beautiful, it somehow doesn’t make it into my daily routine. I don’t have a Sephora store near where I live, so my collection from this brand isn’t very large. I can only buy their products when I’m on vacation. It’s my favorite store in Barcelona!

When I first spotted these eyeshadows at Sephora, I had to try them—and I’m so glad I did. The affordable price ( €7.99 ) makes it easy to experiment with different shades without feeling like you’re making a big commitment.

It’s worth noting that these shadows can have a bit of fallout, so you’ll want to be careful during application. But for the price, that’s a small trade-off for such a great product.

The shade range leans toward neutrals, offering a variety of soft, versatile tones that are perfect for everyday wear. Whether you prefer warm earthy hues or cool understated shades, there’s something here to suit a range of subtle, classic looks.

If you’re in the market for budget-friendly, good-quality eyeshadows, these are absolutely worth checking out!

COLOR WOW Super Natural Dream Coat

Let me start by saying I don’t have the most amazing hair. It's not terrible—pretty fine with a few cowlicks—but I don’t exactly have that "wow" factor either. So, naturally, I’m often skeptical about hair products. I mean, I tend to expect miracles, and let’s be honest: they rarely deliver. Still, once in a while, I get curious enough to give something a try.

This time, I decided to test out the COLOR WOW Super Natural Dream Coat, a product that promises "immediately silky, smooth texture with supernatural shine." If you're like me, you’ve seen it all over the beauty world, with rave reviews and bold claims of transforming your hair into a glossy, frizz-free masterpiece.

First Impressions:

I was eager to see if this product lived up to the hype. After blow-drying my hair with the Dream Coat, I did notice an immediate difference: my hair felt smooth and had a noticeable sheen. It was softer to the touch, and the shine was definitely there, but I was still a little unsure. My hair has a way of looking shiny in the moment, but then things can quickly go downhill by the next day.

The Catch:

Here’s the thing: after two days, I honestly didn’t notice much of a difference compared to when I don’t use the product. The silky smooth texture was great right after styling, but by the second day, my hair started to look a bit lackluster, not quite as fresh and shiny as the first time.

What surprised me most, though, was that I had to give my hair a couple of washes between uses because, frankly, my hair became greasy a lot faster than usual. The product left a residue that made my scalp feel heavy and weighed down. I was hoping for long-lasting results, but I found that I couldn’t really layer this product frequently without it making my hair look oily.

Flat Iron Test:

I often use a flat iron because my hair tends to stick out in every direction (thanks, cowlicks!). I was hoping Dream Coat would help tame the frizz and offer some heat protection, especially since I’ve heard that this product is designed to offer some level of protection from humidity and frizz. However, to really see if it worked on that front, I would need to use it more consistently. I’m not ready to call it a win just yet, especially since the texture issue made me hesitant to apply it too often.

Would I Repurchase?

Here’s the hard part: considering how expensive this product is, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing it. While I did see some initial improvements, they didn’t seem to last long enough to justify the cost. I get that this is a professional-grade product, but for my hair type, the results were just okay, not mind-blowing.

That said, I am still curious about the COLOR WOW Money Masque—I’ve seen great things about it for deep hydration and repair. I might give that a shot someday, but not for a while.

Final Thoughts:

If you’re considering the COLOR WOW Super Natural Dream Coat, my advice is to use it sparingly. Give it a go and see how your hair responds, but be prepared to wash your hair a bit more frequently, as it can get greasy if overused. For those with fine or oily hair like mine, it might be worth testing it out on just a few sections rather than all over. If you have thicker or coarser hair, it could potentially work wonders.

So, have you tried this product or any other COLOR WOW items? I’d love to hear your experience—drop a comment below and let’s chat! 💇‍♀️✨

Claris Milky Boost Foundation

There are some products that you just keep coming back to, and for me, the Claris Milky Boost Foundation is definitely one of them. I’ve repurchased this several times, and it’s become a staple in my everyday makeup routine. While it’s technically marketed as a foundation, I wouldn’t really classify it as one in the traditional sense.

For me, this product isn’t heavy or fully covering like a typical foundation. Instead, it offers a perfect in-between balance — not too sheer, but also not overly full-coverage. It’s the ideal combination of light yet still providing just enough coverage to even out the skin tone without masking the natural texture of my skin. It gives you a fresh, natural finish, which I absolutely love for an everyday look.

One of the other things I really appreciate about the Claris Milky Boost Foundation is its sustainability. The product is recyclable, which is always a plus in my book, and it’s also made in France.

Now, the only downside is the price. It’s not exactly budget-friendly. I usually try to do a bit of research and hunt around for the best deal, but I typically find it priced between €30 to €40. While it’s not the cheapest option, I don't find it overly expensive either, especially considering the product’s volume (50ml). I tend to get at least 2 months of use out of it, sometimes even longer, so I feel like I get my money’s worth.

If you’re looking for a lightweight, natural-looking foundation that won’t feel heavy on the skin and you’re okay with investing a bit more, I highly recommend giving this one a try. It’s become my go-to for daily wear, and I can’t imagine switching it out anytime soon.

MAC Strobe Cream

As someone who's always on the lookout for that perfect dewy skin, I can never resist trying out new products that promise to deliver that radiant, glowing complexion. Recently, I had some free time and found myself popping into Douglas, once again in search of a BB cream with that coveted glowing finish. That's when I stumbled upon the MAC Strobe Cream.

Now, I don't actually own any MAC products, but something about this one caught my eye. And, truth be told, I couldn't resist giving it a try. The first swipe of the cream left me in awe — it was so radiant! I instantly fell in love with its glow and decided to buy the smaller size, which I found on Zalando (thank goodness for smaller versions, because the full size is a bit of a splurge at €48 for 50ml).

So, what is it about the MAC Strobe Cream that caught my attention? Well, it’s a versatile product that you can use in multiple ways. You can wear it on its own as a moisturizer for a subtle glow, or you can apply it under foundation for a luminous base. I decided to get a bit creative and mixed it with a recent foundation fail I had (which I’ve linked here, just in case you’re curious).

The foundation I mixed it with was a bit too thick for my liking, so I thought the Strobe Cream might help lighten it up a bit and add some much-needed radiance. And, semi-success! While the foundation didn't become completely airy, the combination did make it feel a little lighter and provided a nice, subtle glow underneath.

I have a habit of trying to finish every product I buy, especially when it’s something I’ve invested in. The thought of purchasing a full-sized product and not using it up feels like a waste, so I’m always on the lookout for ways to make my existing products work harder for me.

Overall, I’m really happy with my discovery of the MAC Strobe Cream. It's the perfect product to add a dewy touch to your routine without being overly shiny. If you're someone who loves a radiant glow (like me), I’d say it’s worth checking out — just maybe start with the smaller version if you're unsure about the price!

Combinal Eyelash Dye

When I first came across the Combinal Eyelash Dye, it was marketed specifically for eyelashes, but I quickly discovered it’s also amazing for eyebrows. I've been using this product for at least a year now, and I can honestly say it’s become a must-have in my beauty routine. It’s the perfect solution for anyone looking to enhance their brows without having to go to a salon every few weeks.

What I love most about the Combinal Eyelash Dye is how well it works. It gives my brows a natural, fuller look with long-lasting color. I also purchased the 5% Hydrogen Peroxide to mix with the dye, as it's required for the process. This combination has been a total game-changer! I’ve used this dye at least 10 times so far, and I’m confident I can get at least 10 more uses from the same set. I usually do this once a month, which is perfect for keeping my brows looking fresh and defined without any extra maintenance.

I generally leave the product on for at least 5 minutes, rather than the 3 minutes suggested in the instructions. I’ve found that the longer you leave it on, the more intense the color will be, which is exactly what I want for my brows. Just a little tip: in the beginning, the dye can leave a slight stain on the skin around your brows (nothing too dramatic, but still something to keep in mind). I’d recommend doing this treatment in the evening or when you don’t need to go anywhere immediately, as the stain fades quickly on its own.

The best part? It’s incredibly cost-effective. I’ve used the product over 10 times and still have plenty left. So, for me, it's been worth every cent, especially considering how long it lasts and how easy it is to use at home.

If you're looking for a reliable, affordable solution to tint your eyebrows (or lashes), I highly recommend giving the Combinal Eyelash Dye a try. It’s hands down one of the best beauty hacks I’ve discovered, and I’ll definitely continue to repurchase.Have you ever tried the Combinal Eyelash Dye? Do you tint your own brows at home? NYX Pro Fix Stick

Finding the perfect concealer has always felt like an endless quest for me. I’ve tried countless products over the years, but it’s a challenge to find one that ticks all the boxes — the right shade, good coverage, and a formula that doesn’t crease or look cakey. As someone with dark circles and a few fine lines, I’m always looking for a concealer that can handle both brightening my under-eye area and giving me a smooth, crease-free finish.

When I came across the NYX Pro Fix Stick, I thought, "Maybe this will be the one!" The shade was pretty close to what I was looking for, and it did offer decent coverage for my dark circles. However, as I applied it, I noticed that the formula was a bit too thick for my liking. The product didn’t settle as nicely as I hoped and ended up sinking into my fine lines and wrinkles — something I’m always trying to avoid.

Another thing I didn’t love was the application method. The concealer comes in a stick form, and while it might seem like a convenient option, I found it a bit awkward to swipe directly onto my skin. It didn’t glide as smoothly as other concealers with doe-foot applicators or tubes, and it felt a little rigid, especially around the delicate under-eye area. I’m all about a flawless, seamless application, and this just didn’t deliver that smooth finish I was hoping for.

While the NYX Pro Fix Stick definitely provides coverage, it’s not quite right for my skin and the specific concerns I have with dark circles and wrinkles. I’m still on the lookout for a concealer that addresses both without settling into lines or feeling too heavy.

Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Foam

When it comes to self-tanning, I have to admit, I’m a creature of habit. Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Foam Dark has been my go-to for as long as I can remember. I haven't tried any other self-tanners, so I can’t compare it to others just yet, but I feel no need to because this one works so well for me. In fact, trying a new self-tanner feels like a bit of a gamble — what if it goes wrong? (I mean, no one wants to end up with that dreaded Oompa Loompa look, right?).

In the summer, I use this product about once every two weeks, and it gives me the most gorgeous, natural-looking brown glow. It’s so easy to apply, and the color develops quickly, which is exactly what I want for a beautiful, sunkissed skin tone. I also use it on my face, and I have to say, it works great there too. No streaks, no orange tones — just a flawless, sun-kissed glow all over.

The application process is super easy. First, I give the can a good shake, then spray the product onto a tanning mitt (which is a must — don’t skip this step!). After that, I just work the foam into my skin, making sure to blend it well. The only annoying part is that you need to let it dry in the air before getting dressed, which can be a bit of a hassle, especially if you're in a rush. I usually leave it on for about 6 hours, then hop in the shower to rinse off the excess. So, if you're using this, you need to plan a little ahead of time for the drying and development process.

One tricky part for me, though, is applying it to my back. That’s impossible to do on your own! You can’t reach it properly, so it’s always a challenge to get an even application there. I know there are special back applicator brushes for this purpose, but I haven't tried one yet. It’s definitely on my to-do list, though, because it would make tanning your back so much easier!

That said, there’s one downside: breakouts. Unfortunately, I've noticed that Bondi Sands can sometimes cause me to get a few pimples or clogged pores. It’s not a constant issue, but every now and then, I'll notice some congestion around my chin and forehead after use. Of course, the downside is that I spend the whole winter working to clear these up and get my pores back to normal (check out my routine for dealing with that here). But, honestly, it's a small price to pay for such a beautiful tan.

Overall, I love Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Foam Dark and will likely keep using it until I finally get around to trying something new. The tan it gives is just too good, and it’s been reliable for so long. If you’re looking for a dark, natural-looking tan that’s easy to apply and doesn’t leave you orange, I highly recommend it — just be mindful of any skin sensitivity you may have.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow Liquid Filter

This product was a bit of a miss for me personally. I tested it in-store, and with the first swipe, it really seemed like something I would love. On that first swipe, it appeared to be a lightweight product, but of course, it’s hard to judge based on just a swipe on your hand. I also let myself be swayed by the price (€16), which seemed reasonable for what it promised.

It claims to deliver a perfect glow—but for me, it doesn’t quite hit the mark. While that’s not necessarily a dealbreaker, I’m always searching for that perfect glow, so it was a little disappointing.

I also find the product name misleading. On the Douglas website, it says you can use it alone, over or under makeup, mixed with foundation, or as a highlighter. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend mixing it with foundation—how would you even do that? It’s already a pretty thick, creamy, and full-coverage formula.

To make it work for me, I’ve been mixing it with MAC’s Strobe Cream to lighten the texture and to help me use it up. But overall, this isn’t a product I’d repurchase.

Have you tried it? Let me know how you use it and if it worked for you! 💫
